Hours of Operation:
History
The Redford Branch was named for
the area in which it serves. It
opened at its present location
February 16, 1981. The building
was designed by the architectural
firm of Sims-Varner.
The Redford Branch houses approximately
150,000 volumes of books and other
materials, and is the busiest
of all the Detroit Public Library
branches on the west side of Detroit.
Special features of this branch
include a children's storytelling
corner, a children's garden, a
retractible partition (in the
multi-purpose room) and an Internet
lab with 17 public-access computer
workstations.
