Municipal Reference Library
The collection of the Municipal Reference Library is being merged with the Main Library. Periodicals are now available at the Main Library. The vertical file is available with staff assistance. The cataloged book collection is scheduled to be available by National Library Week, 2008.

Description:
Established in 1945 to Assist City of Detroit and County of Wayne goverment employees with their work assignments and to serve as a depository for local goverment documents, the Municipal Reference Library services were transfered to the Main Library on June 28, 2007. The collection and shelving were moved in July 2007.
Services
- Registered City of Detroit and Wayne County employees may charge out materials. (The public may use materials in the library and search the Internet).
- Orientations are given to help familiarize city and county staff with services and collections.
- Research is conducted for ongoing municipal staff work projects.
- Online database searches are conducted through IAC, and FirstSearch.
- Access to materials from other libraries is available through Interlibrary Loan.
- Community Information and Referral is provided by TIP's Refer Web.
