This workshop will take you to the dark side of the Internet to look
at various sites for astrology, dreams and more.
Basic Computer Skills
A workshop designed for beginning computer users. Learn how to use the
mouse with an online tutorial (http://www.northville.lib.mi.us/tech/tutor/welcome.htm)
and work in a windows environment. Basic computer vocabulary will also
be covered.
Basic Web Searching Plus DPL’s New Online Catalog
Learn how to use the World Wide Web to find information and get a guided
tour of DPL’s new online catalog.
Creating
Flyers with MS Word
Having an event? Need to pass the word around? Come and join us in learning
how to create flyers with MS Word that you can use to spread the word
around.
Creating
Tables with MS Word
Come and join us in learning how to use the Table function in Word to
create tables, calendars, and more.
Creating Web Pages Using HTML
This is an opportunity to learn how to create your own Web page using
hypertext markup language (HTML). Learn basic HTML tags and how to save
your Web page to a disk. The workshop will conclude with a discussion
on how to post your Web page on the World Wide Web. Participants must
bring their own 3 1/2 inch floppy disk. Disks can be purchased at the
Internet Lab help desk for $1. Basic computer knowledge is required
for this workshop.

This workshop introduces participants to various grant resources.

Information for Everyone
Join us as we look at a variety of government web sites containing information
for everyone.
Intermediate
Computer Skills
Expand your basic computer skills. This workshop covers file maintenance,
working with multiple windows, and keyboard commands. Prior attendance
of the Basic Computer Skills workshop is recommended.
Intermediate MS Excel
This workshop covers some of the more advanced features of Microsoft
Excel, such as formulas and sorting. Previous experience with spreadsheets
is required.
Intermediate MS Word
A more advanced look at Microsoft Word. Concepts covered include mail
merge, watermarks, and templates.
Introduction
to E-mail
Learn how to get and use a free e-mail account.
Introduction
to MS Excel
Learn the basics of using Microsoft Excel. Spreadsheet navigation, sums
and charts are covered in this workshop.
Introduction to MS PowerPoint
Learn the basics of PowerPoint, a presentation program. This class covers
slides, design templates, animation transitioning, and more.
Introduction to MS Word
Learn the basics of Microsoft Word.
MS Access
Microsoft Access will introduce participants to MS Access, a program
used to create databases. Covered in this class are the various functions
of Access, such as creating tables, forms, queries, and reports.
MS PowerPoint
Learn the basics of PowerPoint, a presentation program.
Using
the World Wide Web to Find Employment
Finding jobs can be difficult at best, but with our own Dorothy Manty
guiding the way it is sure to become a reality.
Children's Programs
Family Internet
Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, kids, come as a family and learn
how to use the Internet together.
Computers for KIDS - Homework
An after school program that allows children to work on their homework
assignments using computers in the lab.
