Your Library Card is a Powerful Resource!

  • Every child or adult that goes to school in Detroit can get a free library card from any Detroit Public Library location.

  • Tutoring and homework help is available at most library locations.

  • At the Main Library located on Woodward & Warren, Wayne State University students provide tutoring to students in Math, English, Science and Social Studies, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 4 – 6 p.m.

  • AZTEC.com, a literacy/GED/tutoring software is available at the Main Library.

  • Tutor.com,” a powerful online learning resource is now available at the Detroit Public Library. Tutor.com can also be accessed from home, at school or at work with a DPL library card. Tutor.com provides an expert tutor whenever you need help, and you work one-to-one with your tutor in our online classroom on your specific problem until it's done.
