Detroit Community AIDS Library

The Detroit Community AIDS Library (DCAL) is a partnership among hospital, academic and public libraries to provide complete and up-to-date information on HIV and AIDS. Located in the Technology and Science Department at Main Library, DCAL provides access to a computer-based network of resources, including community resources for HIV/AIDS affected persons, caregivers and others. Librarians are sensitive to the needs of those  seeking information on HIV/AIDS.The National Library of Medicine provides funding to make DCAL the gateway to HIV/AIDS information for Detroit and southeastern Michigan. Other participating agencies are Children's Hospital of Michigan, Community Health Awareness Group, Friends Alliance, Harper Hospital Library, Project: Survival, and Wayne State University Shiffman Library.
