Principals and teachers are encouraged to arrange visits to the library. Elementary
and middle schools should schedule programs through the Children's Library. High schools, colleges and adult organizations should contact the Marketing Department at (313) 833-4042.

There are 3 types of programs offered by the Children's Library for elementary and middle school classes:

A tour of the building - For 3rd-8th grade

Storytime - Primarily for preschool-3rd grade

Online catalog training - For 4th-8th grade

Programs usually last an hour and can be tailored to meet each group's individual needs. Arrangements should be booked at least 2 weeks in advance. There is a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 people in each tour group.

If you have questions or would like to schedule a visit, please contact the Children's Library at (313) 833-1490 or by email . If you must cancel your visit, please call as soon as possible so other classes may schedule.
