About Branch

Named in honor of the first president of the Library Commission, James Valentine Campbell, the Campbell Branch originally opened in a rented store building at West End Avenue near West Jefferson on September 1, 1907. The branch was known as the Delray Branch and the West Fort Street Branch. The branch opened in its current location in March, 2006.

Book Drop-off

A convenient outdoor drop box is available 24 hours for the return of library materials. We encourage you to return DVDs in person.


Street parking is available.

Meeting Rooms/Space Rentals

This branch offers space for block meetings and neighborhood and classroom programs.

MobilePrint Service

Print virtually any document or web page from your Internet connected PC or mobile device to one of our Detroit Public Library print stations.  Payment for print jobs will be accepted at the selected library location.
